A udubon Settle Alliance Program(A.S.A.P.) A Partnership with Audubon Elementary School Who is Audubon Elementary School? Audubon is in the Daviess County Public School system and serves children, Preschool – 5th grade, in Western Daviess County. The school is located off Hwy 60W on Worthington Rd. "The mission of Audubon Elementary School is to provide a safe, respectful environment where ALL students learn at high levels through a partnership of home, school, and community so dreams may take flight and soar." Over 60% of Audubon’s students qualify for free or reduced lunch.What is our Partnership? Anything God wants it to be! We want to do all we can to minister to these children and their families and to provide support and encouragement to the Audubon administration and staff. We will work closely with Audubon’s principal, guidance counselor, and family resource coordinator to assist in needed areas. We are developing a plan to provide ongoing support through mentoring and tutoring, as well as providing some weekend food for the estimated 100 children who come to Audubon each Monday morning hungry. Why Audubon? Because they asked for help and we have to start somewhere! We also have several members of our congregation on staff at Audubon Elementary. We serve other schools in various ways throughout the year and we will not abandon those ministries. It is our prayer that this partnership will grow and flourish in such a way that will encourage other churches to join with other schools in our area. How can I help? What can I do that will really help? (Please indicate where you feel led and return this portion to the church office) Tutoring ______I can help a child (primarily grades K – 2nd) by listening to them read. Once a week for one hour, M-F, during the school day. Day and time will be coordinated with your schedule and the teacher’s.Food Program Because of our partnership with Tri-State Food Bank, we are able to provide a backpack and weekend food for one child for the whole school year for $100! (Our goal is 100 children!)______I can donate money for the backpack food program. (You may send to the church office) ______I can sort and bag food items. ( Wednesdays after 4pm)______I can deliver items to school. (Thursday afternoons) ______I can pickup empty backpacks and return them to the church. (Tuesdays or Wednesdays) Staff Support ______I can donate money for classroom supplies. ______I can help with encouragement of staff.
